Overload protection

Overload protection is a function that safely stops the output
in the event of an output short circuit or a current that exceeds the rated output.
The evaluation method is to increase the output current and check at what point the overload protection activates.
C.R mode is recommended for electronic loads.
If this test damages the power supply circuit, we recommend improving the circuit design.
Below are overload protection waveforms for output voltage and output current.

Overvoltage protection

Overvoltage protection is a function that safely stops the operation of the power supply circuit to
prevent further damage if an abnormality occurs in the power supply circuit.
Short-circuit the red circle in the circuit diagram below and perform an overvoltage protection test.
Below is the output voltage waveform when an abnormality occurs in the power supply circuit.
Perform the test by shorting the circuit at the rated input and output during normal operation.
We recommend using the electronic load in C.C mode.
If the overvoltage test is unsuccessful, reduce the output current to half the rated value.
If this test damages the power supply circuit, we recommend improving the circuit design.
*Some ICs do not have an output overvoltage protection function.
